Building a planning brand from the foundations up

Designing a brand from scratch is an open invitation to be creative, but it’s also a challenge: to find, capture and articulate the essence of the client’s business.

This team of independent transport planning specialists came to us for help devising, shaping and launching their brand. At this point, they had no name for their company or idea of how to position themselves strategically as a brand.


Working with what became the Astute brand was about first principles — getting inside the client’s mind to understand their purpose and where they wanted their business to go.


This is a critical first stage because it sets the stage for the rest of the process. It's the bedrock of a coherent brand strategy.

Not all brand names directly reflect a company's values, but Astute was the perfect fit for our client. Our in-depth discussions with the team focused on their depth of knowledge and shrewd professional experience as definable characteristics and assets — these qualities enabled them to provide well-calculated, early advice.


While this astuteness was a defining characteristic, it was also a key offering to their clients — in working with these specialist consultants, they could be astute too.


We built the Astute brand identity and assets on these sound foundations, including distinctive graphics, photography, templates and company website.
